Hello! My name is Diego Mendez and I know writing about me pages could be very awkward so I'll try my best haha.
I founded Fiscal Youth Productions in 2018 with the goal to be able to showcase my films in order to further my career as a filmmaker.
I am from Monterrey, Mexico (Mexicano y orgulloso!) I came to the United States at the age of 10 and have been in New Jersey ever since.
Movies have played a big role in my life because to me they feel like historical archives of our society and I want to be able to showcase my life experiences thru my films. No matter what race, gender, and sexuality you are there is always a movie that you can connect to and that to me is priceless.
My directorial debut short film Time was very meaningful to me because not only I got to start my filmmaking career but it was the one and only film I got to work with my father, may he rest in peace.
A few accolades I have received include my short film Aftermath which was awarded Official Selection at the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival in 2018 and at the beginning of 2019, I filmed Superhero, which was later awarded Best Short Film at The Newark Latino Film Festival.
My goal in life is to be able to work on a feature film because I know that once I get my chance I won't take it for granted. I want to be able to imprint my movies in history and one day be able to win an academy award for my efforts, but most importantly, I want to be able to make a difference in someone's life with my films.
I am willing to work with anyone that has the same passion for film as I do, so don't hesitate to get in contact with me!
